Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays, if you can actually call it a holiday. With all the pink and hearts and love-it just doesn't get much better. While I was setting up for mini sessions I took some photos of my handsome little guy. I love all the baby chub!! He just turned 5 months old. When we went to Myrtle Beach in October we got "Stinky Face" the monkey and he was bigger than Finn at that time, so I decided to get a picture with him each month to document his growth. So here they are, my little monkeys!

I love four legged babies too!

Meet Finn Michael Devlin, the newest addition to the Devlin family. This is the reason I have been so busy lately :) He was born on August 9, 2011 at 8:51 am. Weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds 3 ounces and 21.5 inches long! Life has been nothing short of amazing since he joined us. He is a week shy of 5 months old and already has one tooth and another on the way...and I swear he already says "momma", but my husband doesn't agree LOL

2011 has been a very busy and eventful year...Going backward, the twins turned seven, I finished yet another semester of college, decided to go back into photography full time, had a baby, lost a job and became more involved in ministries at church. To say I have been busy would be a tremendous understatement, but I have never been happier. In the face of adversity, God has truly blessed my family. To end the year, I wanted to share some images of what has been going on in my life, as well as clients that never made it to the blog...because I have been a horrible blogger (it's on my resolution list for 2012 :}) To those of you that have made the journey with me, thank you and I love you all! And to those of you who plan to accompany me into the next incredible year...hang on, because we are going to have the time of our lives!! Have a happy and safe new year and may God bless you beyond measure!!

Milk Carton Haunted Houses

Use any size of carton, from an individual sized lunch carton to a half gallon. Cut out a door and some windows and cover entirely with black construction paper. Add some cute halloween stickers and glitter, maybe some candy corn and pumpkins, and you have an adorable decoration that your kids can help create. For an extra spooky touch, add an LED tealight. Create one house, or an entire village!

This precious little angel was my first newborn shoot in a really long time, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. Since then I have been fortunate enough to photograph her at 3 months old too, and I am excited to see how much she grows over the next few months.

I finally have studio space again, and I couldn't be happier! Of course it isn't nearly finished...so I had to set up in my living room to get pics of this little guy. He was just shy of 2 weeks old, and he was so good during the session. He was very patient with us, even though he was awake nearly the whole time.

Here goes....

#1 I am a deeply passionate person. I feel very strongly about alot of things, and I find it hard to hide those feelings. Unfortunately, that's not always a good thing!

#2 I love people, all different kinds of people. I think our uniqueness is what makes us special. I really, really love old people, even if they're grumpy....I find myself wondering what happened to make them that way. My biggest pet peeves are "fakeness" and liars. I can deal with just about anything else. If you're going to be part of my life, you have to be real...that's all I ask.

#3 If I were stranded on an island and could only have 3 things, I would want my camera (of course), Blistex & my Bible....and my computer (with internet access!) and my family and food and my dogs and....scratch that...I wouldn't want to be stranded on an island!

#4 I love to cook and I like to try different recipes. My family doesn't always agree :( I don't like nuts in anything, I love the taste of onions but can't stand the texture so I use onion flakes. I hate corn and I love brocolli. I couldn't survive without chocolate or cheese! I love orange sherbet!

#5 I love movies, any kind of movies, but scary movies are my favorite. I love to be able to escape reality for a couple of hours into someone elses life. I am oddly fascinated by vampires, I blame Brad Pitt (in Interview with a Vampire) for that!

Wow, this was pretty hard! I don't know about interesting, but there are 5 things you probably never needed to know about me!

Wedding sneak peak...

Just a little preview of my Saturday wedding in Gatlinburg. The bride & groom haven't seen them yet, so....shhhh! It was a beautiful ceremony, but they don't allow outside photographers to take ceremony pictures. The staff photographer was very nice and got some great pics though...and he is expecting quadruplets! WOW!
I was able to capture the rest of the day and I enjoyed it so much. They were so happy and the bride was absolutely gorgeous!

I am volunteering with a non-profit organization called "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep", and I just wanted to share a little bit about it with you. Photographers with NILMDTS volunteer their time to families who have lost or are losing a child. NILMDTS was started by Cheryl Haggard and Sandy Puc, after the death of Cheryl's son, Maddux. This is an amazing organization, and the affiliated photographers have helped families all around the world. Even though it didn't last long, I was able to get an amazing picture for a client. It was snowing just perfectly when I took this shot, and it stopped snowing on my way home...God was definately smiling on me!

Vintage Fire Truck

When we went antiquing this past weekend, I didn't find any great "must haves", but I did get some great pics of this old fire truck. It's sitting in front of Todd's Antique Mall in Berea, and if you've never been there, you really should check it out. He has some great stuff in there. Although, this time I did leave empty handed...not sure if that's happened before! All of these pics are edited using Nichole Van's actions.

Fading Away...

I have this image on my Flickr, but thought I'd share it here too. I thought it was an un-salvagable image, but with the help of Photoshop and Nichole Van's Essential BW Action set...It quickly became a favorite. I love how it looks as if she's fading into the picture.

I took these pictures around the first of December, when it was about 60 degrees outside! The Mill at Old Mill Springs was closed for the season, but there are alot of interesting things in the area. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Warm winter day

Well, I don't think winter is ever actually going to get here...not that I'm complaining. It was pretty warm today, so we took the kids for a drive and hit a few junk stores. Gotta love those! On the way back I was able to get a few good pics. Some of my favorite things to photograph are dilapidated old buildings, houses, etc... I guess because I never know how much longer that are going to be there. So many new roads and new houses are being built, that it's hard to know what's going to be here tomorrow, and personally, I like the old stuff just fine.

That's what I thought when I saw this shoe on te beach, covered in little shells. So many things get lost in the ocean. I couldn't stop wondering where it was from, who lost it, were they looking for it, when did they lose it...were they also lost in the deep blue sea? What else is out there? The ocean is so vast, it always evokes so many feelings inside of me...it makes me realize just how small we are and how amazing our God is. I just sit, stare and get lost in it.
